Justin Raine is the principal solicitor of Raine Litigation Lawyers and has more than two decades of litigation experience across the ACT and New South Wales.
Justin began his legal career in a busy Sydney litigation firm in 2002. He moved to the New South Wales Bar in 2005 and spent the following 14 years as a barrister, appearing in courts, commissions and tribunals throughout New South Wales, the ACT and Australia’s federal jurisdiction. In 2019, he established Raine Litigation Lawyers in Canberra.
Justin acts for individuals, families and businesses in civil disputes, criminal matters, protection-order proceedings and disputed wills and estates. His experience also includes consumer claims, contractual and commercial disputes, professional negligence matters and restraint-of-trade cases.
Justin’s approach is straightforward: give clients frank, practical advice; explain the available options clearly; and prepare every case carefully and thoroughly. He understands that litigation is often unfamiliar and stressful, and that clients need both sound legal judgment and a clear understanding of what is happening in their case.
A New Zealander by birth, Justin has lived in the Canberra region since 2014. The Raine family were early residents of the growing Googong community, where Justin can often be seen walking his beloved dog. Away from the law, he enjoys cryptic crosswords, (very) amateur woodworking and pondering irreverent plotlines for the legal comedy-drama novel he will probably never get around to writing.
